Welcome Back, CanAmGer Band!
Everyone remember how much fun we had at last year’s concert? This band has members from Canada, the U.S. and Germany (hence the name). The CanAmGer band is under the direction of Mike Evens (banjo), who also performs with the Toll House Jazz Band. Both bands toured throughout the Midwest for a number of years. This band has seven members so it’s difficult to list everyone’s accomplishments here, but their website is www.tradjazzbands.com. There is also a link to their YouTube channel so you can hear their music!
We also put that information in the glass case near the Gift Shop. Join us on Thursday, March 15th, at 7:30 p.m. for some upbeat traditional jazz!
Piatigorsky Foundation Annual Concert!
Astonishing in her musical versatility, violinist Qing Li brings great warmth, poise and insight to her music making. Ms. Li is currently the BSO’s Principal Second Violin, appointed by Yuri Temirkanov in 2000 upon winning the audition, and is frequently featured as a soloist. Other solo engagements have included the Butterfly Lovers Concerto at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, the Haydn violin concerto with the Richmond Symphony and the Bach Double Concerto with Hilary Hahn to name a few. Ms. Li is a Piatigorsky Foundation Artist, a much sought after recitalist, chamber musician and guest concertmaster, such as a guest concertmaster at the Iceland Symphony in Reykjavik. Throughout the great cities of America, South America, Europe and Asia, her broadcast appearances include a biography on Voice Of America, interviews on Baltimore’s WBJC and WYPR radio, and television stations in the US, Germany and China.
She will perform for us on SUNDAY, MARCH 11th, at 7:30 PM!

B.I.L.L. Series News
At press time, our committee hasn’t chosen our next class from The Teaching Company yet, but we are looking for one with closed captions that we know our students will enjoy! For March, we will continue to show the Rick Steves Travel Series and show “Germany Benelux & More!” We will put a flier in your mailbox when we have the information about the next Teaching Company DVD.
Our next class from Adult and Community Education (ACE), is “Amish Studies – Part 2″ with our new Bay Village favorite, JB Miller. This class explores Amish life in more depth, focusing on family structures, education, and worship as well as other events that bring the community together, such as weddings, funerals, and community activities. This is a continuation of the introductory class, “Mennonites, Amish, and the Pinecraft Community.”
We will soon have an “APP” that you can download to your smart phone, computer and other devices like tablets. You’ll be able to get the menu, activities for the day and a whole host of other information. We’re planning on having a class for whomever wishes to download and use the APP once it’s ready.

From the Dining Services Director
Did you know that March 7 is “Bay Village Dining Services Appreciation” Day? Back in 2002, after the completion of the kitchen renovation, the Bay Village Board of Directors decreed March 7 as Dining Services Appreciation Day. This was done in recognition for the staff’s efforts during the main kitchen renovation. The staff prepared meals in a temporary kitchen at the back of the building and did not miss a beat during the five-month project. As you go about your day on Wednesday, March 7, please recognize the Dining Services staff for their efforts. I know they will appreciate it.
Another kitchen tour has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 20th @ 2:30 pm. Please call Denis @ extension 2112 to sign up for the tour, which lasts about 45 minutes.
