WELLNESS CORNER …
By Petra Mueller
Summer is here—time to get active early in the day or later in the evening when it is cooler. There is no shortage of classes being offered and if you need help finding the right one for you, please stop by and see me. On Saturday, July 12, I will offer a Master Class again. We will start out in the auditorium at 9 a.m. with a combination of Strength, Balance and Tai Chi before we head to the pool and continue with a Splash Class. After the class I will offer refreshments for everybody.
Look for the flyer in your mailboxes.
Remember to stay hydrated in the summer and protect your skin and head when you go outside. Enjoy the beautiful grounds here at Bay Village. Smile as you go through your day, a good attitude will help your overall wellbeing. Be kind to others and yourself!
Seniors vs. Crime
On Tuesday, July 8, we hope that no Bay Village resident will exempt themselves from the program this morning. Charlie Mericle from “SENIORS vs. CRIME” will be here to discuss this volunteer organization of the Florida Attorney General’s office at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium.
Hopefully, you are all aware of the current issues facing senior adults with scams, fraud and related crimes by individuals and businesses using mail, Internet and other ways to fraudulently obtain personal information or money from elderly persons. This organization has been in existence since 1989 and uses “Senior Sleuths” to be the eyes and ears of the Attorney General’s office regarding this type of crime.
Come and learn more about what you can do to protect yourself from these crimes and about this unique organization of senior volunteers! See you there!

Day Trips and Travel
In early OCTOBER, we’ll head to one of Universals Studios most beautiful on-site resorts, “The Royal Pacific” for an early dinner at one of the three fantastic restaurants they have there. You feel like you’ve entered the South Pacific when you enter this lush resort, and the restaurants have an Asian flair! Choose from “Emeril Lagasse’s Tchoup Chop,” “The Islands Dining Room” or the more casual “Jake’s American Bar & Grill” for dinner and then we’ll take the boat transportation to Universal Studios to see the “BLUE MAN GROUP.” The Blue Man Group is a VERY unique show that you have to see to believe! More information about pricing and menus will be on the flier you receive in your mailbox.
We’re also headed back to Branson for Christmas from Nov. 11 to 17! Ship & Shore Travel is your group leader for this and they have ALL of Branson’s best Christmas shows reserved! Our group went to Branson in 2010 and absolutely loved it, so we hope you all take advantage of this opportunity!
