On Thursday, March 23rd, we welcome The Crystal Trio to the Bay Village stage for the first time! NOTE: this is a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m.!
Saying that this group is “unique” is certainly an understatement! They are a “harmonic glass ensemble” from Russia! They perform traditional and classical music on glass instruments: the glass harp, verrophone and glass panflute bass. Glass music, an ancient art which had success with many noble houses of Europe, Russia and North America in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, often introduced as an integral part of the symphony orchestra.
The members of the band, Igor Sklyarov, Vladimir Popras and Vladimir Perinov are professional musicians and are brought to us courtesy of the Moscow Nights Agency, the same organization that arranged the Russian folk dancing performances everyone loved so much in 2015 and 2016. Check them out on their website, www.russianfolk.com/crystaltrio.
