Last year, in many of my Covid-19 updates, I wrote about the New Normal as we emerged from the pandemic. What would this new normal look and feel like? I believe we are seeing what this new normal is looking like as we still are struggling to get the pandemic behind us. Supply chains have been disrupted so items such as refrigerators, stoves, furniture, and construction materials are sometimes taking months to come in once they are ordered. The labor supply has been diminished due to hundreds of thousands of nurses, aides, service workers, and others having left these positions to work in other fields or make a choice to be unemployed.
Many of us thought that once the summer of 2021 rolled around, life would be back to normal even though all during 2020 we were hearing about a new normal. Well, we are in a new normal. Life is not like it was in 2019 or before. Catastrophic events, such as a worldwide pandemic, produce societal changes that are new for everyone to deal with. Bay Village is working through this new normal and we are committed to continue to provide high levels of service and care to all of our residents as we make our adjustments to our operations in this new environment.
Soon the sound of saws, hammers, and construction will be heard on the main campus of Bay Village. Later this month, construction will start on the outside projects of the campus masterplan renovations.
