When we know things are about to end, we often will try and hold on just a bit longer. As our campus moves into October, our days are getting shorter with a later rising sun and an earlier sunset each day. Many of us wish we could hold onto more of the light. Many residents enjoy the outside gardens of Bay Village, but in order to do so, you must walk later in the morning and earlier in the evening as the sun makes its adjustment to the autumn season. Soon our daylight will be shorter than our nights. At least we live in Florida and with the setting sun we can enjoy some beautiful evenings with temperatures in the 70s. One thing we do not want to hold onto is the pandemic. It just seems to go on and on with no end in sight. After a high number of positive cases here in Sarasota County, the county positivity rate is inching back downwards. Will we see another wave of positivity in the future? Let’s hope not, but it does seem like that the light at the end of this long tunnel keeps itself just outside of our grasp or is it the tunnel is just getting longer? Construction is in full swing on the Bay Village campus with the demolition of the third floor roof deck and the beginning of the demo of the windows in the poolside café. The temporary road has been built back to where the Palm Event Center will be constructed. This temporary roadway will allow materials and supplies to be able to be delivered to this section of the campus.
Fall is upon us and I hope everyone enjoys the last quarter of the 2021 year!
