We have seen a lot of changes here at Bay Village during this past month and a half as we have changed operations in order to provide to our residents the safest environment possible during the Covid-19 crisis. I have heard many positive comments from many residents through cards, emails, and conversations. There always has been a sense of family here at Bay Village. Now, during this pandemic, I see how the community comes together to help one another. Volunteers making masks, the great work of the country store, volunteers helping with the grocery delivery/ pickup process, residents making cards/notes for the residents residing in health care and assisted living, and the residents keeping the distance between people. The staff performs duties that they never thought they would be doing. Grocery store trips to purchase over $1200 of groceries in a day, Total Wine purchases for the residents, the making of exercise and vesper videos to be shown on channel 195, the makeover of the dining room to a Dash and Dine program, skyping and face time with residents and families, and the hardworking nurses and staff in our assisted living and health care centers who keep those residents’ spirits lifted even when they can’t have visitors. I also cannot say enough about the Directors’Team. The team is leading their departments as the various changes are being made throughout the campus. It has now been three years since I started here at Bay Village on May 1st. During those three years we have been through a hurricane called Irma and a pandemic of Covid-19. During both of these events, I have seen and am seeing the hardworking resident volunteers and staff, who are doing a great job for Bay Village!
