As I write this article, Bay Village is rolling out the Point of Sale system in our dining room. I know the first week or so, there are going to be “bumps in the road,” but when we have it all worked out, it will be a big plus to have this dining charge system in place on our campus. Whenever there is change, there are always the comments about, “Why do we have to do it this way now?” Well, if change doesn’t happen, then things like a rotary phone with a party line would still be in existence. Do you remember this? I believe by the time you read this, the point of sale system implementation will be running much smoother and the pencil check-off system will be far from our thoughts.
As we head into February, the director’s team has been working with SFCS to develop the color schemes and furniture, fixtures, and equipment for our apartment hallways and core areas. When completed, there will be four different boards that the apartment floors will be able to choose from when it is time to renovate their floor. We are also working on the schemes for our public restrooms on the first floor. We plan on updating the public restrooms in 2019. Furniture for the resident wait area should have arrived by the time you read this article. This replaced the furniture that was located there for years. The poolside grill area was completed in January. This upgraded area will provide for very nice outdoor dining.
Later this month, Sheila and I will be participating in the Not-So Newlywed game on Valentine’s Day. This will be a fun event as we compete against some couples who live here at Bay Village.
