January 2021 will go down in Bay Village’s history as Covid-19 Vaccine month! On January 12th our health center residents and staff received their second vaccination for Covid-19. Then the next day, our residents in independent living/assisted living and remaining staff had their first vaccination shot for Covid-19. Over 350 shots were administered on the 13th in five and half hours. Both days the vaccination clinics ran very smoothly on our campus. I want to thank our partner, Walgreens, for providing to Bay Village the vaccine and the staff to administer the vaccine to residents and staff of Bay Village. Walgreens did an outstanding job in the Bay Village clinics – thank you! I am hoping the last vaccination clinics run as smoothly as these did – scheduled on February 2 for Health Center and February 3 for Independent Living/Assisted Living. I am sure they will.
I don’t see any changes in Bay Village’s operations in the foreseeable future even with the rollout of the vaccine to everyone. Bay Village will continue to expect social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing from everyone. Visitors are to be escorted to and from apartments and screening must occur for anyone coming onto our campus.
When you drive south on Vamo Road this month you will begin to see activity at the Tides of Bay Village Memory Care House- hold property. As I write this article, the building permits are just about secured for the project to begin the first of February.
When the Tides project is completed early next year, this will be a wonderful addition to all the services that Bay Village provides to all of our residents.
