Spring has arrived in Southwest Florida. I have heard many positive comments about how the campus grounds are looking here at Bay Village.
I see many of you walking the grounds daily. Have you stopped by the butterfly garden and orchid gardens recently? They both are looking extremely nice. I am appreciative of the residents who have worked diligently on these garden areas.
The Department Director team and myself have been working with SFCS and moving from conceptual design of memory care and master planning to the schematic designs. Two areas I hope to begin actual work on yet this year include the three apartment floor core and corridor renovations and also the public restrooms located on the ground floor.
Board member Kevin Hicks, Marvin Lunsford, SFCS and I met with several construction companies the first of March, and we will be selecting one that will be the general contractor for all the upcoming work.
It is my hope that we will be able to acquire permits at the end of the year for the memory care building and master plan with approvals sometime in 2020. I wish you and your family a very happy Spring!
