Here we are in August – the slower “Dog Days” of summer. Just to let you know, things are not slowing down at all here at Bay Village. During the past several months, we have been working diligently at adding washers and dryers to our empty one-bedroom apartments. Bill Seigh, Director of Maintenance, was able to engineer a way for a stack-able washer and dryer unit to be placed in a one-bedroom apartment. To be able to do this, a vent-less dryer is being used. The discounted entrance fee associated with these units is still discounted, but not at the rate it was before these changes occurred. We believe that the upgrades will assist us in attracting individuals to these units. Another project that I have been working on is the Wi-Fi for our campus. During the month of July, I was in negotiations with Comcast in securing the fiber link to our building for Wi-Fi. Also being discussed with Comcast is our bulk TV agreement with them. I hope to have these negotiations wrapped up in a few weeks and then work can begin on the Wi-Fi for our campus. This work will take four to five months to complete.
Last month Sheila and I had a wonderful dinner with a few of our centenarians who reside on our Bay Village campus. It was such an interesting evening listening to their stories from years past. Sheila and I really enjoyed the evening! Be on the lookout this month as our four furry poodles will be making their debut here on the campus for a Dog Days of Summer event on Friday, August 18th, at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
