Will I own my apartment at Bay Village?

No, you are signing a lifecare contract. Though you do not own your apartment, your entrance fee and monthly fees entitle you to enjoy your residence as well as all amenities. When your health declines and additional health care services are needed, your monthly fee will increase depending on the level of care required. To learn more about lifecare please contact a Bay Village sales associate.

Bay Village is a Florida non-profit corporation founded by the Pine Shores Presbyterian Church. What is a non-profit corporation exactly? A non-profit corporation does not have stockholders like a regular corporation. Instead of stockholders, Bay Village has elected directors chosen by members of the Pine Shores Presbyterian Church. The business of Bay Village is conducted under the direction of its voluntary Board of Directors—all of whom serve without pay.

A dining services minimum is built into the monthly fee of each resident. Every independent living resident pays the same amount for dining services, but any unused portion does not carry over to the following month.

Bay Village has a total of eight guest suites that can be reserved through the front desk reception.

Of course! We want you to feel at home here at Bay Village. Your guests are welcome to stay with you in your apartment or in one of our guest suites that can be reserved for a fee.

The maximum amount of days a guest can stay is 14 days.

Bay Village permits service animals only with appropriate documentation, though this does not apply to therapy animals.

A resident can be assigned outdoor parking space at no cost. We also offer garage and carport parking for a fee (as available).

We can only offer one parking garage space per apartment due to high demand.

Yes. We accept most long-term care policies, but you should contact your insurance company for specific questions.

Bay Village contracts a medical director that oversees the skilled nursing and assisted living at Bay Village. There is also a nurse practitioner that visits most days of the week.

Yes, on most days. But we are currently building more dining options to make these food options more readily available to those with specific dietary needs!

Yes. The property tax amount is built into your monthly fee. This amount is for your apartment only not for common spaces or any unoccupied apartments.

Yes. We have a program called the Estate Preservation Program which allows you to pay by the month. It is NOT a lifecare contract. These contracts are limited, so be sure to give us a call to see if we have availability.

Bay Village does not have to evacuate. Our building has Miami-Dade rated hurricane windows, a freshwater well, and generators to power most of the building.

You, your physician, your family, or a designated person will decide.

Nope! We don’t expect tips here.

Absolutely not. You are in control of your own finances.

We continue to enjoy new friends, our comfortable apartment, excellent food, spacious grounds, a wide choice of activities, and fine entertainment.”

“We chose Bay Village because so many hassles that come with homeownership are now gone. We enjoy more time together as the maintenance department handles landscaping and repairs of any kind. In addition, cleaning in our apartment is taken care of by housekeeping. From a social standpoint, we have numerous on-site and off-campus trips/activities to choose from that are arranged by the resident services. Safety is also a top priority at Bay Village, as 24/7 security and medical assistance are available.”

- Jim and Joan S., Bay Village Resident

“After considering every CRCC in Sarasota, we chose Bay Village because of its friendliness and financial stability. We always feel safe and secure here, but especially during the hurricane season as Bay Village is above floodplain level and is built to keep us safe during the storm. I enjoy the new friendships I’ve established, and the varied entertainment and social programs offered on-site and off-site. As I age, I value the opportunity for lifelong learning, and I enjoy the convenience of on-site medical services, skilled nursing, home health care, and memory care.”

- Larry, Bay Village Resident

“I came to Bay Village 10 years ago. It was evident that Bay Village was founded on Christian principles from the beginning. The residents welcomed me in a kind, friendly, and thoughtful manner. We enjoy healthy, tasty meals, entertainment with movies, live performers, exercise classes, card clubs, book clubs, etc. Our administrators are helpful if we have questions and care about our well-being. Residents are grateful for the opportunity to live here. I know I am!”

- Bob V., Bay Village Resident

“Bay Village attracted us with its welcoming and friendly atmosphere offering us gracious living all under one roof with various levels of care. Exercise classes keep us fit, entertainment programs with outside talented performers, and recent movies. In addition, Bay Village offers different dining venue options and opportunities for volunteering to become part of community life. All these components are the ingredients to continue living a rich, wholesome life.”

“After moving into Bay Village at 80-years-old, now 92, I see numerous advantages. The campus is peaceful, with walking trails and nature experiences at every turn. Day-to-day needs are met with on-site postal service, grocery, and campus gift shop. Close to shopping and dining, Bay Village is in a prime location. The on-site activities are thoughtful and contribute to lifelong learning, and residents become family, loving and friendly. Whatever the future holds, Bay Village can provide, Assisted Living, Nursing, and Memory Care. Best of all, my children can visit and know that I am in good hands.”
