Rev. Dr. Chuck Moffett
There is, I think, a basic and radical (root) conviction that is missing in our 21st century world. If this conviction were to be recaptured, nurtured, and practiced the entire planet would be redeemed. The conviction I have in mind is:
EACH PERSON IN THE WORLD IS A CHILD OF GOD!
Each person is God’s work of art. Each one is a precious gem, a marvelous melody, a potter’s delight. Each person is God’s handiwork, and together, woven in love, shaped with infinite compassion, painted with incredible beauty.
We are God’s children, diverse in human qualities, but united in our call to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
We are God’s children, living in God’s truth, sharing God’s peace, carrying God’s hope, embodying God’s love throughout the world God loves so much.
We are to be reminded once more who we are, whose we are, and what our lives are about: our world, each other, and not only about ourself.
Each one of us is here to be uplifted, renewed, and empowered to live out the miracle of being a child of God, and seeing ALL others as a child of God also. We are here together to open ourselves to God, who makes all things new!
