Our “Walk around Florida” continues through the month of May. In May we have a change in the schedule for the first 3 weeks, so please pay attention to that. Mariann Vento, who has been here before, will be back to teach Strength Classes and Balance and Posture Classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Linda Bruno will teach a longer version of Splash during the usual time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Linda is a teacher at the YMCA with a lot of experience.
It is proven that moderate exercise improves your health, balance and overall wellbeing. Our beautiful grounds invite you to a walk or stroll and the water in the pool is at a perfect temperature right now to swim, water walk or exercise.
Continue to keep track of your physical activities, as well as lectures and outings for the Walk around Florida.
Keep active; it will enhance your life!!!

Do You Enjoy Learning? Then Join Us for Our B.I.L.L. Programs!
Did you know that B.I.L.L. stands for “Bay Village Institute of Lifelong Learning?” We began the B.I.L.L. series about 15 years ago to meet the needs of the folks at Bay Village who enjoy learning new things and keeping their brains active! We hope to see some new folks at our programs!
Our next DVD series from the Teaching Company is “Experiencing America~ A Smithsonian Tour Through American History.” This is taught by Dr. Richard Kurin. Dr. Kurin is the museum’s Undersecretary for History, Art & Culture. His PhD is in Archeology. This is a lecture tour of some of the most stunning exhibits at this tremendous museum. The course is arranged thematically rather than chronologically. It begins with an artifact few Americans are completely familiar with: The original Star-Spangled Banner. This 12-week class begins on May 5. One evening this month will be interrupted with a “live” presentation on May 26.
John Patti will present: “The History of the Steel Drum” as well as entertain! John has performed here a number of times, but he hasn’t done this educational presentation in a number of years, so if you missed it last time, be sure to attend! EVERYONE thought they knew everything there is to know about steel drums and John proved us wrong! The time is the usual B.I.L.L. time, 7:30 p.m. in our auditorium.
Straz Center for the Performing Arts
The Straz Center in Tampa has some fantastic shows booked in the coming year. We usually go to one or two shows per year but this year we are going to 5, starting with “Mamma Mia” on June 24 (the deadline has already passed to sign up for this one).
On October 21st join us for “A Gentleman’s Guide To Love And Murder”. Getting away with murder can be so much fun…and there’s no better proof than this uproarious 2014 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical.
On November 11th, we’ll see Disney’s “NEWSIES”. This was a tough ticket to get…as it the shows first time traveling. It’s based on the real-life Newsboy strike of 1899 and tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of leaving the big city and following his dream of being an artist. The songs are by 8-time Grammy award winner Alan Menken and feature jaw-dropping choreography! On Saturday, December 5th we head to the show that has everyone talking, “KINKY BOOTS”. Winner of SIX Tony awards in 2013, Kinky Boots tells the hilarious and quirky story of Charlie Price who inherits his father’s show factory that is on the verge of bankruptcy who meets Lola, an entertainer. The unlikely pair discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world! 80’s pop artist Cyndi Lauper wrote the music and became the first female artist to win a Tony award for her work!
On Wednesday, January 27th, we are thrilled to say we’ve got seats for Disney’s “THE LION KING.” This show features the most amazing puppets you have ever seen, that blend in with the actors wearing them. You will truly be mesmerized by this show!
